Can you envision a rural area teeming with agribusinesses run by ambitious young entrepreneurs? Or construction companies and manufacturing firms led by skilled and competent workers? This is the kind of economic growth that vocational education can bring to rural areas.
But let’s not sugarcoat it, providing quality vocational education in rural areas is no easy feat. The government of Uganda must invest more in this sector to address the challenges facing vocational education in rural areas, and to ensure that it reaches its full potential. This includes providing more funding for vocational schools, upgrading infrastructure and providing training for instructors.
